Today NIFTY CONSUMER DURABLES was the best performing index and NIFTY FINANCIAL SERVICES was the worst-performing index.

Equity indices in India reversed part of yesterday's gain. Nifty 50 closed in red in today's trade with a fall of 96.00 points. It opened at 18080.60 against the previous close of 18053.40, which means a gap up of 27.20 points. Nonetheless, profit booking in the last part of the trading session led to lower closing of the market. The breadth of the market was positive and we saw that more stocks closed in green.

In today’s trade, the best performing index was NIFTY CONSUMER DURABLES it was up by 2.40%. This is followed by NIFTY MICROCAP 250, which was up by 1.67%. The worst performing index in today's trade was NIFTY FINANCIAL SERVICES. It is down by 1.58%. Out of the total 20.0 companies forming part of the index, 15.0 companies closed in red, and 5.0 closed in green.

Companies that supported Nifty 50 in today’s trade were 'Adani Ports', 'TCS', 'Tata Motors', 'ITC' and 'Titan Company' together they contributed around 52.72 points gain in index. While the companies that dragged the index were 'Bajaj Finance', 'Infosys', 'HDFC', 'Reliance Industries' and 'HDFC Bank'. These companies contributed 148.44 points towards the fall of Nifty 50.

Overall market today was in favour of advances. At close advance to decline ratio stood at 321:164.
