The table below ranks the qualifying companies strictly by market capitalisation, rather than by percentage gain. ETFs, SME securities and non-equity instruments have been excluded. 

Ather Energy was the largest company in the group. The stock first reached a 10% band and, following expansion of the permissible trading range, subsequently touched ₹1,587, equivalent to 15% above the previous close. It later traded below that level and finished around ₹1,575. 

The market-cap ranking and late-session prices are consistent with the October 26 upper-band screen, while independent market pages corroborate the applicable bands for several of the larger names. 

Ather Energy Leads the Upper-Circuit List

Ather Energy ranked first with a market capitalisation of about ₹62,483 crore in the late-session snapshot.

The electric two-wheeler company's shares moved sharply after its September-quarter results. Ather reported consolidated revenue of ₹1,464 crore, up 62.8% year on year, and net profit of ₹1.3 crore compared with a loss of ₹154 crore a year earlier.

The stock initially reached a 10% price band at ₹1,518 before the permitted range widened. It subsequently touched ₹1,587, or 15% above the previous close, before finishing around ₹1,575.

Ather therefore qualifies because it touched its upper circuit intraday, even though its final price was below that band.

Sterlite Technologies and Sigma Advanced Systems Reach Their Upper Bands

Sterlite Technologies ranked second, with its shares reaching ₹867.95, up 5%.

Sigma Advanced Systems followed with an approximate market capitalisation of ₹15,580 crore. Its applicable upper price band was ₹820.30, representing a 4.99% rise from the previous close. Independent price-band data also showed ₹820.30 as both its intraday high and upper circuit.

Standard Engineering Technology similarly reached its 5% upper band at ₹350.90.

E2E Networks Moves From Lower Circuit to Upper Circuit

E2E Networks recorded an unusually wide intraday reversal within its permitted price range.

The stock touched its 5% lower band at ₹537.75 earlier in the session before moving to its 5% upper band at ₹594.35 in afternoon trading.

The move followed the company's disclosure that it plans to add about 5.4 MW of infrastructure capacity to support Nvidia HGX B300 systems and other Blackwell GPUs. Its existing infrastructure capacity was stated at approximately 9.2 MW.

Among the top 10 companies by market capitalisation, Ather Energy was the principal touched-versus-closed distinction.

Its intraday upper band reached ₹1,587, while the final market-closed price was around ₹1,575, leaving the stock up 14.13% rather than the full 15%.

The distinction is important because reaching an upper circuit during the day does not necessarily mean a stock remains at that price until the end of trading.

Some lower-market-cap stocks recorded larger percentage moves. For example, Permanent Magnets was up 20%, but its market capitalisation was below Birla Cable's in the late-session ranking and therefore it fell outside the top 10 selected under the market-cap methodology.
